NEWS BANJUL, THE GAMBIA(MB)- Jacques Diouf, the director general of the United Nations Food and Agriculture Organisation (FAO) and Mamour A Jagne, the Gambia's ambassador and Mission head to the European communities have felicitated the Gambian leader, His Excellency Sheikh Professor Alhaji Dr Yahya Jammeh on the occasion of the country's 45th Independence Anniversary celebrations.

......................................
On the joyous occasion of our nation’s forty-fifth independence anniversary, please allow me to offer my sincere congratulations to Your Excellency, and through you, the entire people of The Gambia. Under your leadership, momentous progress has been made by the Gambia in several sectors, as has been well documented.

Yet out of all these developments, kindly allow me to highlight the University of The Gambia, the coastal road network, and rural electrification drive. These, in my humble opinion, are particularly significant because of their catalytic effort in unleashing the country’s full economic potential, thus helping to accelerate the country’s development progress.

I pray that Allah the Almighty continue to guide you, and provide you with strength and wisdom in this noble challenge, as you lead our beloved nation towards greater prosperity and self-actualisation.

Please accept, Your Excellency, the assurances of my highest consideration and esteem.

Mamour A Jagne
Ambassador
